Burbank, CA — Today, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) released the following statement in response to the ongoing fires across Los Angeles County:
“Overnight, multiple massive fires tore through Los Angeles County, devastating communities and destroying countless homes and small businesses. Families woke up this morning to the unimaginable – entire neighborhoods reduced to ash. The scale of this destruction is staggering, and for far too many, life will never be the same.
“I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the extraordinary first responders who battled these blazes through the night and have continued into the morning – charging into the inferno and putting their lives on the line to protect our communities. Thanks to their bravery, countless lives and livelihoods have been saved. Many of them remain on the front lines today, away from their own families.
“To those who have been displaced, lost homes, or are anxiously awaiting word about loved ones or property, know that you are not alone. We’re in this together – and working with our federal, state and local partners, we will work to ensure that every possible federal resource is deployed quickly and effectively to help our communities respond and rebuild.”
